The Very Best talks with Yours Truly

-The Roots’ How I Got Over is getting pushed back to early 2010…no link yet
-The AV Club on their favorite road tripping songs. Mine? It’s cliche, but I’m partially to The Allman Brothers Band’s “Midnight Rider” and “Jessica;” I have fond memories of my dad playing those, and the soundtracks from The Magnificent Seven and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly on road trips as a kid. I feel like we should come back to this to discuss at greater length sometime in the future
-BBC News interviewed Imogen Heap, and she was quite candid on a number of topics, including why her record isn’t getting more play in the UK and Hungry, Hungry Hippos
-Curious about how Shazam works? Look no further. This is all very interesting, but why don’t they have a web version of the application? It seems it’d be relatively easy to analyze the song coming through a computer’s sound card, no? (Also, they’ve been around since 2002?! Kind of shocking that this kind of programming existed then)
-Soul Sides ponders NPR’s 50 Greatest Voices project
-Paul Shirley’s latest column on Jamie T

-The Guardian argues why Fleet Foxes will never be as big as America (the band)
-Really well-shot live video of The xx performing “Basic Space” (via)
-Idolator on the Times’ Creed coverage…Creed sucks, but is anyone else surprised that they have to stoop to selling tickets for $1 or less? I thought Jesus-lovers would still be into them and for a dollar, I would definitely ironically go to a Creed show
-DJ Tech Tools reviews the best ways to save music online (thanks, Andrew)
-Gucci Maine has three new mixtapes available for download (via)
-Bowerbirds continue P4kTV’s Cemetery Gates feature
-TheFADER TV’s in the bar segment with Kurt Vile has a part 2
