[Tracks] Chromeo-ooooooo-ooh
Chromeo hasn’t been the subject of any coverage here at CotP, but both the Heavy One and myself are tremendous fans. Actually, D was the person who first introduced me to their particular brand of electro-pop a few months after the release of Fancy Footwork. Dave1 and P-Thugg have been working on music together since they were kids, and their closeness is apparent in certain elements of their songs, particularly the call and response throughout their vocals. “Night by Night” is there first original release since Fancy Footwork; it’s a tremendously fun dance track, reminiscient in a lot of ways of “Bonafied Lovin’.” Check the new single and Skream’s remix below.
Additionally, Chromeo’s !K7 DJ-KiCKS mixtape was just released and the group is touring in support of that at the moment (see after the jump for tour dates/locations). I’ve also included the brand new Jay-Z and Chromeo mash-up from our friends The Wet Bandits (yes, that’s a Home Alone reference). Over and out.
