[Links] Culture Club - Retroactive for 9/29
I’m just catching up on my internets reading, so this is all of yesterday’s links. Today’s to come later tonight.

-From the FADER: a good profile of Phoenix and a FADERTV feature on Fool’s Gold
-Farhad Manjoo argues that third-party devices (like phones from Palm’s line) should be able to sync with iTunes. It makes sense that Apple would disallow this, but for a company that presents itself as progressive, they do a nice job of chipping away at that image in trying to control every aspect of its software and hardware. I’m an Apple nerd and I love their product, but at a certain point the company’s conduct, if it continues, will cause major problems for them.
-Thom Yorke is forming a new band called The Eraser, featuring Flea (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers), Joey Waronker (who has worked with REM), Mauro Refosco and long-time Radiohead producer Nigel Goodrich. The band will perform some of the solo stuff that Yorke has been working on over the last few months. They’ll play two shows in LA to start, both next week. Tickets/info available here for 10/4 and here for 10/5
