[Tracks] The Rural Alberta Advantage - Don’t Haunt This Place
The Rural Alberta Advantage have cropped up on a few end of the year lists. I guess technically Hometowns was released in 2008, but Saddle Creek was smart enough to pick them up and re-release it this year. I didn’t take notice for either release, but thought I’d go back on the recommendation of so many other people. “Don’t Haunt This Place” is a clear standout and a good representation of RAA’s sound. Over a frenetic drum beat, RAA deliver an emotional punch akin to some of Neutral Milk Hotel’s most famous work. At just over 2:30, it begs to be listened to over and over again.
