[Tracks] Cold War Kids - Audience of One
After falling hard for Robbers and Cowards, I was pretty disappointed by the Cold War Kids follow up, Loyalty to Loyalty. The idiosyncratic stylings that caught my attention on their debut seemed contrived and clunky the second time around. In an effort to recapture their original magic, the band is stripping things down a bit for a new EP. First single, “Audience of One” is a promising start. The background music around 1:00 is a smirking, clever distraction in a song that worries about trying to captivate even the smallest audience.
