Cities of the Plain

Good news folks, Sufjan Steven’s new record The Age of Adz is available to stream, courtesy of NPR’s First Listen program.  It’s much heavier than his previous full-length work, with more electronic influences than we’ve seen in the past.  Still, the little Sufjan touches are there, and it doesn’t betray the elements of lightness from Illinois and Michigan.  It’s also less strange than both the BQE project and the EP released through BandCamp a month ago.
The album is out October 12, but give it a listen today below.  (Listen track by track here at NPR’s site.)  And if you know how to get in touch with Sufjan, tell him he should switch up and wrap the fat end of his tie around the skinny end.  He’ll look like a dolt if he keeps it up with this nonsense.
